Malnutrition is the condition that develops when the body does not get the right amount of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients it needs to maintain healthy tissues and organ function. There are different types of malnutrition, it varys to nutrients are missing in the diet. There are two common types of malnutrition. - Protein-energy malnutrition - resulting from deficiencecies in any or all nutrients. Firstly, Protein-energy malnutrition is a lack of glucose and proteins in foods. This is the most dangerous malnutrition as it is a lack of calories and protein that we get from food. The calories and protein turn into engery for humans and we need it to function. Both of these are key elements are cruial for your dsily intake that your body needs as it helps your devlopment. There can longterm effect sas well as life threatening.This is the most lethal form of malnutrition and is the type of malnutrition that is referred to when world hunger is discussed. |
